About

YCSP (York County Shelter Programs) offers a variety of services and has the ability to meet a multitude of needs. Currently, YCSP is licensed by the Department of Health and Human Services and holds both a substance abuse and a mental health residential license at our facility in Alfred, Maine. The population served at this facility is low to no income individuals 18 and over years of age. In addition, YCSP also operates an emergency family shelter in Sanford, plus, a working farm in West Newfield, for men in recovery and Serenity House for men in recovery located in Portland, plus 400 units of low income housing. Our Food Service Program provides vocational training for homeless persons while preparing and distributing meals to hungry persons through a Free Meals Kitchens as well as our residential facilities. This amounts to almost 120,000 meals per year, plus the YCSP food pantry, Alfred, distributed over 25,000 food boxes in FY16.
