About

We have made many adjustments due to the Coronavirus to help ensure your safety and the health and safety of those we serve. We are looking for households of 3 or more that have been social distanced together to come serve together!

We are working out of the Nenon building at St. Anne Highland putting together food boxes for families in need. Please dress comfortably in closed toed shoes, gloves provided, and we are asking volunteers to bring their own face covering/mask.

We still need volunteers to come help us pack this food for our neighbors in need. However following CDC guidelines, all staff/volunteers at high-risk of severe illness from COVID-19 will be prohibited from serving at this time. Based upon available information to date, those at high-risk for severe illness from COVID-19 include:

•         People aged 65 years and older
•         People who live or work in a nursing home or long-term care facility
•         Other high-risk conditions could include:
o   People with chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma
o   People who have heart disease with complications
o   People who are immunocompromised including cancer treatment
o   People of any age with underlying medical conditions, particularly if not well controlled, such as those with diabetes, renal failure, or liver disease
•         People who are pregnant since they are known to be at risk with severe viral illness, however, to date data on COVID-19 has not shown increased risk

Our community is in crisis, and the work of Catholic Charities meets a critical need. Our work is needed now more than ever, and we hope you can join us!

Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
  1. Have you or someone in your household traveled to a country on the CDC’s Level 3 watch list in the last 30 days? At this time, these include China, Iran, Italy and South Korea. These may change. See the CDC’s guidelines for the most up-to-date list.

  2. Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.

  3. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a fever, cough or shortness of breath. See the CDC’s symptom information.

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
